Steuben Foods is a major food processing and packaging company in western New York, and the sole sponsor of EMPact America. Steuben Foods shares the corporate philosophy stated above—that a truly great business will go above and beyond its products and services to give back to society. Because Steuben Foods understands the risks to the consumer electric utility from both hostile and natural sources, it has chosen to fully support the efforts of EMPact America to protect the U.S. power grid.

EMPact America, in turn, helps Steuben’s corporate culture by proving that Steuben Foods is more than just another good company. Empact America helps create a sense of teamwork, common cause, and working toward a higher, more noble, purpose. Steuben Foods and EMPact America partnered to create a Task Force providing Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training to Steuben Foods employees to incentivize and reward preparedness planning and emergency skills training through the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Citizen Corp. Almost half of the 500 Steuben Foods employees in Elma, NY have completed the program.
